Love for Karl Part II

Here are pictures of some of my favorite pieces from Lagerfeld's new collection for Macy's.

Love the white collar!

Love the simplicity...I would wear this with the Colette necklace by Stella & Dot (which happens to be on sale!!)

I have this crazy love for tweed - especially since I live in Florida, it is more of a love/hate the heat relationship.

I would pair this with my cropped skinny pants.

I would wear these pieces separately or together...love it!

So pretty...I can wear this to work with a little cardigan!

LOVE!  (Need that belt too!!!)

How Did I Get "Stella on the Brain"?

If you knew me before I signed up as a Stella & Dot Independent Stylist, you would have noticed (maybe) that I never really wore jewelry.  I always wore my wedding and engagement rings, my watch, usually diamond studs or some other kind of stud earring, and this great necklace that my mom and dad got me for my 25th birthday.  As long as it could be worn while I was sleeping, showering, running, etc., it was good to go.

I've always loved accessories - handbags, shoes, at one time - socks.  I love, love, love clothing - jeans, t-shirts, tank tops, cute dresses.  I also love fashion magazines.  (Here is where Stella & Dot comes in, sorry if it has been dragging a bit LOL.)  So...one night I am reading a magazine and I see this super cool bracelet - the Petra, and as I always do when I find something interesting in a magazine, I rip the page out and finish reading.  The page with the Petra had a website, so I jumped on my computer and there I was at the Stella & Dot site.  Approximately 45 minutes later, after going through all of the jewelry, reading about the company itself, and the opportunity it offered, I proudly told my husband, "Babe, I am now a Stella & Dot stylist!"  Mind you, it is about 10:00 pm, we are laying in bed and he's watching golf.

I had been to in-home parties before, even had some at my house in the past.  The last one was this horrendous "toy" party and I vowed not to do one of those again...it wasn't the product that was horrendous, but the person that came over was so unprepared, didn't know her product, and was rude.  (Perfect way to know how not to do an in-home party.)

OK, so at this point I am a stylist.  I am waiting for my Starter Kit and my sample jewelry to arrive.  I have NO idea what I am doing, but thankfully S&D offers a "university" filled with training videos (cool ones though...not cheesy...motivating, not cheerleader-y).  I started watching the 3 - 5 minute videos and was loving what I was seeing.  I started to truly believe at this point that this was something I can easily do.

The starter kit comes.  The samples I chose arrive as well.  I am sitting at my breakfast room table and in awe.

I booked my first show - this would be my "launch" party.  I signed up for their boot camp training (hoping it wasn't going to be a rah-rah session). The boot camp was FABULOUS.  It was so informative, REAL, and priceless.  I was able to meet other ladies on my team, ask questions about the company, the product line, anything.  The ladies around were genuinely NICE. They were from all different backgrounds and locations throughout Florida.  I began to realize that some of them were just like me - married, kids, working full time, and now a stylist.  I learned how they managed their time, how to handle objections, how to be true to my guests and just tell them from the heart why I chose to do this.  I learned more and more about the new trends in fashion and how each collection of jewelry was created and where the inspiration for it came from.

Fast forward 5 months to the present - I love what I do.  I know it isn't for everyone.  I know not everyone loves and wears jewelry (I was one of those people, remember?).  I know not everyone wants to have a party and invite people over for their own chosen reasons.  I try to show them the fun of it, the non-pressured excitement, the "excuse" to get together with great friends, drink some wine, have some snacks, catch up on what's going on it everyones' lives, and try on some seriously cool jewelry.  I greet everyone that comes to the party...I genuinely want to know about them - I love people, I love talking (ask my husband - he can totally vouch for that!!), I love networking in general.  I give my "group hello" or as I like to call it my "schpeal" about Stella & Dot and why I am standing in front of them.  I then try to style them...honestly telling them what I feel looks great, would be a great addition to their jewelry wardrobe, what might not work...everything.

I work full time in what I like to call my version of "corporate America".  I come home and have a blast with my husband and kids.  I now have a wardrobe that is based on the jewelry...I pick out my outfit based on what bracelet or necklace I feel like wearing that day.  I love it!  I work on my Facebook fan page www.facebook.com/fortheloveofjewels when I can, I update this blog, and I look for innovative ways to spread the word about my new business.  I am still working a bit on the time management part...it'll take time, but I see everything falling into place and I couldn't be happier!

I Would Have Never Guessed...

I am even more excited than before about Stella & Dot after having a two hour Skype call with an old friend!  Jen lives in Portland now and we haven't seen her, Ed (her husband) or Chloe (daughter) in over 3 years!

When I started my Stella & Dot Facebook Fan Page and Jen had commented that she loved the jewelry.  A few days later she messaged me that she would like for me to send her a Look Book as her birthday is coming up and she'd like to pick out something a little special...very cool...

I am not a pressure sell person (if that is even a phrase, but you know what I mean) but figured I would throw it out there that she can become a stylist in her area.  I messaged her, saying that the Look Book is on its way to her and then threw out the bone that if she was interested I would love to talk to her further, etc.  Message came back, "Call me".  Whoohoooooo

I called her the next day and we set up a Skype call...and here we are now!  I showed her sample pieces I had, explained what sold well (taking into consideration that we are in two different geographical locations with different styles and trends), and had a great time doing so!

AND today I get a call from a coworker across the office telling me that she is looking at the look book and wants everything (note: this seems to be the census with everyone that peruses it!)  I am expecting a nice order tomorrow :)  Whoohooooo!!!

My Stella & Dot Vintage Twist bracelet in gold...LOVE IT!!!

Tomorrow Night is the Big Night!!

I am so excited (and nervous, but mainly excited)!!!!  Tomorrow night is my launch trunk show for Stella & Dot.  I have a few errands to run tomorrow morning after karate and then it's time..

For me, to do something like this is a big step...I am not normally a proponent of the Direct Sales arena nor am I one to be "pushy".  Luckily I don't have to worry about that with Stella & Dot...I am going to let the jewelry sell itself!  When asked to describe the products, I say it is definitely not your grandma's jewelry (although I do love vintage :).  It's a mix of modern meets trendy meets classic - depending on which line you are looking at.

I love the little girls' line too...I want to get all of it for my niece but my sister might yell at me so I will pick a few pieces (and I am sure Mom will picka few pieces too)!

If you are reading this and cannot make the show tomorrow night, please check out my site and treat yourself to something nice...you deserve it.

I'm Full...

I am definitely full!  In the immediate moment, I am full from my over 1,000 calorie salad (yes, you read that right - salad).  It was delicious.

I am full of excitement for the new opportunity I have to sell Stella & Dot's line of jewelry and have many fun and fabulous trunk shows and parties.  www.stelladot.com/sites/danapeller

I am (not as much as last week) full of sadness for our loss of Harley.  I still have his food and litter that I will donate to a shelter this weekend.

Who Doesn't Love Jewelry?

I love jewelry (and clothing, and shoes, and handbags, and hair accessories, and belts, and just about everything...).  While perusing one of the gazillion magazines I subscribe to, I cam across a really cute necklace.  Of course I had to check out who made it, where I can get it, how much does it cost...

That is how I was introduced to two new BFFs - Stella & Dot.  After going through every page of their site, a figurative light bulb appeared above my head.  I love accessories, I love to shop, and I love to spend time with my friends.  Why not try and become a stylist and see how it goes?  What could go wrong?  NOTHING!  I have yet another "excuse" to hang out with my friends.  I get jewelry at a discount and if I sell some pieces, I can make a few dollars to support my shopping habit.  If this is Rich reading this - please read that last sentence as "I can save for the childrens' college education."  (Just kidding, we are already doing that ;)

I booked my first trunk show - February 26th at 8:00 pm...I sent out my first evite!  I also sent out my business launch email too (BTW, the date for the trunk show is incorrect on that email.  Thank you Amalia for pointing that out!  Whew...although if you want, you can come over on the 28th too!!)

So now I am watching videos, reading my manual, so excited!!!!  I ordered business cards and started my Facebook page.  I have my own personal web page www.stelladot.com/sites/danapeller

Now I am just patiently waiting for my sales kit (and of course the jewelry....whoooohoooo!)
